Notes On The Music & The Journey

12:01

"12:01" is officially out in the world, marking the completion of my latest batch of new songs.

Musically, this is the most atmospheric track of the collection. It gave me the opportunity to experiment with space, texture, and ambient production techniques. The production side was a fantastic challenge as I continue to learn and gain experience recording, mixing, and mastering my own work.

Lyrically, the song hits right at the point of change:

“The scene slowly ends…As the next one begins…The healing really

Letter at 1am

While not great for a sleep schedule, there is a distinct kind of honesty that surfaces in the early hours of the morning, when the noise of the day finally fades away and we step inward. It is an ideal time to work through things, let things out of your head, and write songs. It was in these early hours that "Letter at 1am" was born.

Recorded to capture a more intimate performance, the track features a deep cello that complements the piano, a clarinet solo that drifts to the end where the song releases into…

It Was You

“It Was You” is a song born out of a very inspiring songwriting workshop I attended this past March, led by the incredible Heather Maloney. I was fortunate enough to perform an early version of it at The Parlor Room in Northampton, and most recently, I had the chance to share it live at Brothers Lounge in Cleveland.

While I love performing this song live at the piano as a ballad, I took a different approach for the studio version, recording it as a more energetic, upbeat cut.

At its heart, the song is a…

Two Shots of Whiskey

Song notes:

On the surface, it’s a song named after a familiar comfort. But at its core, it’s about loneliness, searching and most importantly finding kindness.

As I move from the Seacoast region of New Hampshire to north Texas, I am so grateful for all of the kindness shown to me during my time in the community especially from my great friends at 3 Bridges Yoga, Reedmor Books & Brews, and White Heron Tea & Coffee.

I wrote and produced this song in 2025 but didn't get a chance to release it until now. At first…

"It Was You" | A Live Debut at The Parlor Room

My first performance of "It Was You" was captured in full during a recent session at The Parlor Room in Northampton, MA.

This almost fully formed piece explores themes of love, trust, and healing. I was adjusting lyrics right up until the performance and, even if a bit raw, it felt good to finally share the song.

A heartfelt thanks to the wonderful group of songwriters and friends who made this session so special.

"It Was You" is one of eight new songs I’m currently preparing to record. I’ll be heading into…

A "Live" Glimpse of Northampton: Glimpse of Time (The Parlor Room)

Last weekend, I attended a songwriting workshop led by Heather Maloney, Kimaya Diggs, and Don Mitchell (Darlingside) in Northampton, MA. The three of them are so generous, gifted, and such wonderful teachers. I encourage you to seek their music out and -better yet- go see them live.

In addition, I got to meet and connect with a special group of people and talented songwriters. There is an incredible energy that comes from being surrounded by people who are all deep in the process of creation. It’s…

Live at Spireside Coffeehouse: How It Softly Ends

Here is a 45-second look at "How It Softly Ends" from my recent visit to Spireside Coffeehouse in Dunbarton, NH.

This song explores the quiet moments of transition—a theme that has felt especially relevant to me lately. I’m still in the process of honing these vocal and piano parts from a performance standpoint, but as I’ve said before: there is still a lot of room to grow, but the growth is part of the point.

I actually just got back from another open mic this weekend, and it felt great to keep the momentum…

Glimpse of Time: The Portland Session

While “Glimpse of Time” has been available on streaming for a while, I really wanted to capture a version that reflects my current solo focus behind the piano.

As many of you know, this song came to life in Portland, Maine. The lyrics—from the faded cobblestones to the chance meeting at the old bookstore—are direct nods to the time I spend wandering those streets. There is a specific energy in Portland that found its way into this song, and filming this session there felt like bringing the music back to its…

40 Miles to Go (And a New Direction)

It’s been a few months since my last update, and while I’ve been quiet online, I’ve been very busy behind the piano.

Moving Between

Starting later this year, I plan on spending significant time traveling outside of New Hampshire to be closer to my family, including extended visits to Ohio and a move to North Texas. This new rhythm of traveling is a change I’m looking forward to. It has already made my time here on the coast feel more reflective, and that perspective is finding its way into my music.

Look At You

"Look At You” has been released.

Song notes:

  • 'Look at You' is a love song born from an unforgettable moment with my mother amidst her Alzheimer's struggle. Standing in her living room, she couldn't form the words, but her face and gesture as she pointed at a picture of my late father profoundly shared the depth of her love. It was a beautiful expression of their enduring bond.
  • This is a vocal driven song with an acoustic piano, standup bass and finger snaps layered in for light structure. Recording the…
