While not great for a sleep schedule, there is a distinct kind of honesty that surfaces in the early hours of the morning, when the noise of the day finally fades away and we step inward. It is an ideal time to work through things, let things out of your head, and write songs. It was in these early hours that "Letter at 1am" was born.
Recorded to capture a more intimate performance, the track features a deep cello that complements the piano, a clarinet solo that drifts to the end where the song releases into the outro.
Lyrically, this song is an open letter born from watching people you care about retreat behind walls—and trying to find their way back to the sun. And how sometimes that person you are watching is you.
"Tried to change your life but it wouldn't take…Smashed the bottle but it just wouldn't break…Now you're back behind the walls and gates…Thrashing softly while they dangle the bait"

Next week, I'll be dropping the final release for this cycle—a track with a heavy atmospheric influence that is also a time reference.
Thank you for listening, for reading, and for stepping into these quieter, more reflective corners of my music and life with me.
