I don't play covers very often. My instinct is always toward my own songs, my own stories. But there are certain pieces of music that live inside you quietly, waiting for the right moment to come out.
Brothers Lounge in Cleveland gave me that moment. They offered everyone an additional song at an open mic and I felt the pull toward Fog (Again) by Radiohead — specifically the solo piano version Thom Yorke recorded, which is spare and still and quietly stunning. I've carried that version around for a long time.
Sometimes you don't choose the song. The song chooses the room.
The video is available on YouTube and in the Glimpses gallery here on the site if you'd like to watch.
I have more recently been in songwriting mode but have taken a pause from that to record something new — a song written for a very special occasion. More soon.
Thanks so much for listening and following along.
