Where The Revelers Meet

“Where The Revelers Meet” has been released.

Song notes:

  • The story of “Where The Revelers Meet” comes from great times had at places like Jimmy's On Congress, Revelers Hall and The Blues Kitchen.
  • I really loved pulling together the instrumentation for this song ranging from the standup bass which starts the song to the horns, drums and voice/horn/piano exchange that closes the song out. The ending exchange is a simple example of jazz as a conversation. Listening to jazz as if you are hearing or even are part of a conversation makes it so much more accessible and opens the door into an incredible world.
  • The piano solo was particularly fun for me to record as it connects directly to my study of jazz piano.
