“It Was You” is a song born out of a very inspiring songwriting workshop I attended this past March, led by the incredible Heather Maloney. I was fortunate enough to perform an early version of it at The Parlor Room in Northampton, and most recently, I had the chance to share it live at Brothers Lounge in Cleveland.
While I love performing this song live at the piano as a ballad, I took a different approach for the studio version, recording it as a more energetic, upbeat cut.
At its heart, the song is a reflection on how love can change its shape over time. And it doesn't have to look exactly like what you first envisioned for it to be deeply meaningful.
“It Was You” is officially out today, and you can stream it on your preferred platform below:

Next week, I'll be dropping a simple, stripped-back ballad, followed the week after by a track with a heavy atmospheric influence.
Thank you so much for listening and following along.
