"Floating On The Ground" has been released.
Music notes:
- Shifting to Logic Pro for song making has had many benefits including access to a fiddle sound. The fiddle is featured on this song and will undoubtedly finds its way into some of my future songs.
- I have been putting an emphasis on writing more thoughtful lyrics. Many of the lyrics for this song and the others being released over the next few weeks were written at and fueled by White Heron Coffee & Tea in Portsmouth.
- Utilizing reference songs is a technique sometimes used when mixing and mastering songs. This can be helpful with things like balancing the volume of various instruments, placing eq levels and with the overall song tone. Reference artists used when mixing “Floating On The Ground” include Nick Cave and Johnny Cash. I love the tone, moodiness and depth of their music and hope to write more songs that embrace their respective styles.

TJ Welch and the Wasted have been busy of late with the new video release of “Female Joey Ramone” and a recent gig at O'Briens Pub in Allston. Upcoming gigs include The Square Root in Roslindale on 10/3 and The Midway Cafe in JP on 11/1. I am gearing up to hit some open mics as well in the coming weeks and months.
