“Croatian Skies” has been released.
Song notes:
- “Croatian Skies” wrote itself last summer when I had the opportunity to visit Croatia with family. Images from an unforgettable wedding celebration, a beautiful national park and the Adriatic shores all find their way into the song as well as so many other elements from that trip to Croatia.
- The three note progression that continues throughout the song is inspired by the sea organ of Zadar. The Zadar Sea Organ is a waterfront platform that utilizes sea waves to create beautiful sounds. A popular place for people to gather at sunset, click on this link to learn more about the Zadar Sea Organ.
- Musically, “Croatian Skies” utilizes layers of synthesizer and piano tracks to form the core sound. It is one of the songs I used to practice mixing so it has been mixed and re-mixed countless times before creating the final version.
