- “Annika” is inspired by a chance encounter my kids and I had on an early evening walk along a river in the beautiful Tahoe region of California. We met this young woman who, through her energy, openness and loving spirit, helped us return our to ourselves as she has undoubtedly done with countless others.
- The quirky elements of this song are drawn from Annika's uninhibited way of being herself without concern of judgement.
- While “Annika” is piano based, the solo is a synth sound that evokes Annika's voice amidst the beauty of that early evening setting by the river.
